What’s the first step in my InnerAthlete experience?

Once you sign up, we will mail you your Test Kit. The kit includes everything you need: a Blood Test, a Genomics Test (Cheek Swab), and all the shipping materials to send your samples back. Once you take your test, we will send you a link to schedule your S2 Test.

What are the QR codes for?

Inside your Test Kit, you’ll find 3 QR codes to help guide you through the process:
QR Code 1: Scan it for a video from our Medical Director, Dr. Ed O’Bryan, with step-by-step instructions.
QR Code 2: This code links to a video from our CEO, Steve Harrison, explaining how the test works and how it helps you.
QR code 3: This code is a link to register your test.

How do I mail the tests back?

Accepted Answer

Once you’ve completed the tests, pack everything back in the box and use the prepaid return label(s). Make sure to send it back within 5-10 days so the labs can process your results on time.

How do I  take the blood test?

We include detailed instructions in your kit, but here’s a quick overview:
Pick your finger: Use the least-used hand (e.g., non-throwing hand for baseball players).
Collect the blood: Follow the steps in your kit to prick your finger, collect a small blood sample, and let it dry.
Return the sample: Package it up and mail it back to us using the provided shipping 
Use warm hands: Wash your hands in warm water to improve blood flow and make it easier to collect a good sample and stay hydrated.

Do I need to fast before the Blood Test?

Yes, it’s recommended to fast for 8-10 hours before taking the test for the most accurate results. Try to do the test in the morning before breakfast or workouts.

How do I take the DNA cheek Swab Test?

For the DNA Test (Cheek Swab), we provide easy-to-follow instructions in your kit. Here’s the process:
Ensure the barcode matches your registration.
Important: Don’t eat, drink, or smoke for 1 hour before collecting your sample. 
Swab your cheek: Rub the swab inside your mouth, on both cheeks, 10 times each.
Store and return: Place the swab back in the tube, seal it up, and send it back to us.
